November 28, 2013Movie Review: Loose Shoes (1980)
November 27, 2013Also known as “Coming Attractions,” here is a movie that stars Bill Murray on the DVD cover (dir. Ira Miller). It’s a spoof on coming attractions for movies and Bill Murray is in one small part of it.
It’s irreverent, kind of funny at times, very dated, and very weird.

Movie Review: Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970)
November 27, 2013I don’t know what to say about this bizarre acid trip of a movie (dir. Russ Meyer).
Written by Roger Ebert!
Hollywood does weird scary sexy even deadly things to people!

November 27, 2013Movie Review: Phantom of the Paradise (1974)
November 27, 2013This movie (dir. Brian De Palma) is incredible. Very weird and hilarious. Very dark for a PG rating! This is a beautiful imagining of the Faust tale.
This tiny cute but creepy dude Paul Williams plays the Devil character.
My 70s crush Jessica Harper is the lead actress in it.
All in all, a phenomenal, weird, and intriguingly cheesy film.

November 25, 2013Movie Review: Picasso and Braque Go to the Movies (2008)
November 25, 2013Here is an interesting look at how the artwork of these painters was heavily influenced by motion pictures. (Dir. Arne Glimcher).
It was produced and narrated by Martin Scorsese.
Personally, I have had trouble accepting or appreciating a lot of Picasso’s work. This is one of the first of several Scorsese-produced films that I have been on a kick watching lately. His documentaries about artists really help me appreciate some shit.
