Movie Review: George Washington (2000)

David Gordon Green’s indie got him a lot of cred, a Criterion release, and his work since this time has been consistently entertaining. Here is a story of a group of poor kids, that involves a tragedy, hope, whimsy, and a lot of face slapping realness. The titular character, George, has a condition where his skull is still soft, and if he gets hit in the head he could die. Good stakes in this movie, y’all.

5 hats and glasses.
