During the month of October, I participated in Inktober, but instead of following the prompts, I started a portrait of a famous person (or character) per day. Each day, I picked someone iconic whose birthday it was and made a black line drawing on a canvas. These will all become full color portraits, but here is what they look like now!
You can own any of these portraits if you want! Just let me know which one is speaking to you and we can make a plan to get it on your wall. I am currently coloring and editing these paintings, but am willing to sell as is for a cheaper rate! But it will look better when it’s finished.
The subjects in the portraits:
Jimmy Carter, Gandhi, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Susan Sarandon (Witches of Eastwick), Kate Winslet (Titanic), Jeremy Sisto (Jesus), Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling (The Notebook), Sigourney Weaver (Alien), John and Yoko, Jessica Harper, Cardi B, Aleister Crowley, Beverly Crusher and Jean Luc Picard (Star Trek), Udo Kier (with Madonna and Co. from “Sex”), Neitzsche, Angela Lansbury (Murder She Wrote), Evel Knievel, Klaus Kinski (Aguirre Wrath of God), John Lithgow (Harry and the Hendersons), Snoop Dogg, Kim Kardashian, Jeff Goldblum (The Fly), Weird Al and Parents, Drake (DeGrasse), Picasso, Hillary, Roberto Benigni, Bill Gates, Bob Ross, Henry Winkler (Fonzi), Vanilla Ice (Ninja Turtles)

I had the pleasure of participating in a SPOOKY maker’s fair around Halloween. It was called Finalcon, a “hand-made” trade show and event at The Museum of Human Achievement–a collaboration between a couple different visual and performing arts companies, including Dystheatre/Make Every Media and Ink Tank Lab.
My booth was an Art Booth that featured some merchandise–stickers, buttons, Daily Drawings, etc.. There were Free Drawings prints. But the featured thing was a whole collection of comics-style acrylic paintings on canvas.
I created two sets of paintings–one was what the audience participants saw when they may have initially passed by my booth, where I was also doing FREE silhouette portraits of people with their spirit animals. The 2ND set of paintings is what they saw when they came back from the key note address of Finalcon, given by Diggs Manibus.
At that point, the TRUE Finalcon could be viewed by people, and of course that’s when the cultish hand-themed nature of my booth was present and the 2nd set of paintings was out, each a foil to its counterpart.
These are all for sale, either individually or as individual sets.
You could possibly own a holy relic!!!

Here’s a black and white draft of my tribute to the late David Bowie.
I’ve always been inspired by his famous shape shifting characters and alter egos.
Although I’ve appreciated his music, mostly it’s been within the realm of greatest hits. On one hand I feel a guilt of bandwagoning, but on the other hand I don’t envy the pain of people who know more Bowie than I do, what a slightly older generation who witnessed his transformation in real time and what that did to society, man, what they must be feeling.
The scope of this loss is huge.
In this drawing I have my zig zag mustache character, Me&Todd Dude, portraying Bowie in many of his manifestations. It ends with him as the Blackstar button-eyed sick Bowie from the Lazarus video and from there we see the next square has Bowie shedded his earthly coil and fully transcended into his true form, the space alien who fell to Earth and gifted us good music.
I’ll be listening to deeper cuts and coloring this for a bit. Stay tuned!
