Todd is the resident sketch artist for Industry Night.
During every show, Todd is there to make an original piece of art that captures, in comics-style, all of the different acts and vibes of the show that evening. The art is then given away at the end of the show to a lucky someone who is either pre-determined or a triumphant hero of the “Beer Olympics” which have occurred after the show several times in the past.
INdustry Night is a sketch comedy and variety show that features some extremely talented actors, comedians, musicians, and alternative performers from the Austin area.
HERE are some of the drawings that Todd came up with during various Industry Nights.
I had the pleasure of participating in a SPOOKY maker’s fair around Halloween. It was called Finalcon, a “hand-made” trade show and event at The Museum of Human Achievement–a collaboration between a couple different visual and performing arts companies, including Dystheatre/Make Every Media and Ink Tank Lab.
My booth was an Art Booth that featured some merchandise–stickers, buttons, Daily Drawings, etc.. There were Free Drawings prints. But the featured thing was a whole collection of comics-style acrylic paintings on canvas.
I created two sets of paintings–one was what the audience participants saw when they may have initially passed by my booth, where I was also doing FREE silhouette portraits of people with their spirit animals. The 2ND set of paintings is what they saw when they came back from the key note address of Finalcon, given by Diggs Manibus.
At that point, the TRUE Finalcon could be viewed by people, and of course that’s when the cultish hand-themed nature of my booth was present and the 2nd set of paintings was out, each a foil to its counterpart.
These are all for sale, either individually or as individual sets.
